Rimini is really two trips: the Adriatic beachfront, and the Roman and Renaissance center behind the railway. Stay on the waterfront for sand at the door. Stay inland for the Arch of Augustus, Tiberius Bridge and the station nearby.
Marina Centro runs between the port and the southern beach districts, with hotels along Viale Amerigo Vespucci and the seafront. The water is close, but reaching the historic center means walking inland past the station or taking a bus. The port canal separates this shore from San Giuliano Mare to the north.
In the old town, Corso d’Augusto links the Arch of Augustus with Tiberius Bridge. Piazza Cavour, the Tempio Malatestiano and the City Museum are nearby. Staying here means old-town evenings and a short walk from Rimini station. The beach is a longer trip.
Cross Tiberius Bridge for Borgo San Giuliano’s painted lanes and restaurants. Its beach district, San Giuliano Mare, is farther toward the sea. South of Marina Centro, Bellariva, Marebello, Rivazzurra and Miramare line the coast. The Metromare busway links them with Rimini station and Riccione.
Summer is beach season. The 1991–2020 mean July and August high at Rimini-Miramare is about 84 °F. Old-town walks are easier in spring and autumn, though October has more rain days than midsummer. At a beachfront hotel, ask about beach-club access and whether the room faces the sea or the busy road.
